ARMS and legs were not the only body parts tested to their limits at the Southampton bar Polecats final at Que Pasa.

If it wasn't the spins and stretches of the dancers causing spectators eyes to pop out, it was the energetic flips and accompanying frolics that kept jaws constantly hitting the floor.

After four weeks of amateur pole dancers strutting their most creative moves around the pole, the Southampton heat saw Winchester student Catt Wakely crowned Southampton bar champion.

The 22-year-old will now return to the Above Bar Street bar next week, where she will face off against winners from other Que Pasa venues for the regional final.

"I'm really surprised to have won," she said. "I was originally entered into the competition by someone else and found it really nerve-racking.

Judges for the strictly no-nudity contest, supported by Southampton based Janie's Pole School, looked for originality, entertainment value, talent and crowd appreciation.

"It's a great thing to do for fitness and exercise so I really enjoy," she added.

Catt is now hoping to continue her success next week and make it through to the grand final in London where a brand new BMW Mini awaits the winner.
