WINCHESTER Operatic Society (WOS) are moving with the times to publicise their latest show.
Members organised a ‘flashmob’ in Winchester High Street on Saturday to promote the forthcoming production of Billy.
Society members gathered in The Broadway before heading up the High Street singing songs from the show.
Billy, based on the novel Billy Liar will be on at Winchester Theatre Royal from May 14-18. It is the first modern musical WOS has ever done.
It is celebrating its centenary this year.
Society spokesman Gill Russell said the flashmob: “The public reaction was very good. There was a huge round of applause and several people filming which is good.”
