THE magic of Harry Potter was brought to life in Southampton today.
Players took part in a game of Quidditch - a version of the game played by budding wizards like Harry at Hogwarts School - on Southampton Common.
Though no flying was involved, players tried to create aspects of the game set out in JK Rowling's bestselleing Harry Potter books with seekers, bludgers and the snitch all included.
A crowd of onlookers took pictures on their phones and tried to understand the rules of the game, which combines elements of handball, rugby and dodgeball.
The Southampton Community Quidditch team came out on top against a side from Reading University winning two games in a row by getting the tag from the 'snitch' - a player dressed in yellow.
