BURGLARS stole video games consoles and computer equipment after breaking into a house in Southampton.

They kicked in the front door of a home in Peartree Avenue, Bitterne, between 3pm and 11.30pm on Sunday, May 5, while the 68-year-old man and 70-year-old woman living there were out.

They stole an IBM Thinkpad 42, a Nintendo DS with a Sudoku game inside and imitation brown leather music case with a recorder.

PC Scott Lee said: “We want to hear from anyone who has suspicious callers at their door as it’s likely the offenders knocked on neighbouring doors to establish if the residents were in.”

The Thinkpad has a crack in the mouse and a screensaver with photographs of the victims’ grandchildren.

Witnesses or anyone offered the stolen goods should contact him on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
