IT SEEMS that Hollywood heart-throb Johnny Depp has decided against setting up home along the south coast.
Rumours are rife that the Pirates of the Caribbean star has instead set his sights on the north of Hampshire, after being spotted in a county pub.
The 49-year-old star has stunned drinkers at The Cricketers in Hartley Wintney after dropping in, not once but twice, in the last month, leaving the landlord hoping that he may become a regular.
Sightings of the actor, a father-of-two, famous for playing Captain Jack Sparrow and about to play Tonto in a remake of The Lone Ranger, have been reported across Hampshire in the last couple of months.
Speculation is now rife that Depp has bought or is hoping to buy a property in the county.
But Depp is no stranger to rumours about buying a home in Hampshire, in recent years sightings of him in Lymington and Romsey sparked mass excitement that he was about to become a resident.
The actor has strong links with the UK, and is said to own a townhouse in Bath and a stately home in Norfolk.
