THEY are some of Southampton’s best known landmarks – but Daily Echo readers have made them look better than ever.

From the cranes over docks, to the famous Bargate and the Itchen Bridge they have been captured in spectacular style as part of the Daily Echo’s Best of Southampton photographic competition.

The Daily Echo has teamed up with Business Solent and Discover Southampton to launch the search for the best images that sum up the wonderful city of Southampton.

We are asking readers to send us the photographs they believe show the very best of Southampton. You do not have to live or work in the city, but the images must be of life within the city boundaries.

Our panel of judges, including Southern Daily Echo picture editor Paul Collins will judge the very best and choose an outright winner and runners-up.

The best photograph will be turned into a large canvas print for the photographer to keep. Many of the images will be used to help promote the city on the Daily Echo’s website, Destination Southampton and some in print form.

There will also be photographic vouchers worth £250 for the top image, £100 for the first runner-up and £50 for the third place.
