THE CHARGE is on once again for one rhino who is packing up and moving home.

Stylo the punk rocker rhino has proved a little isolated grazing at Southampton Airport so the Go! Rhinos team have decided to get him involved in the centre of all the trail action.

But before he takes up his position in his new home, the redhaired, nose-studded sculpture will today embark on a tour across the county to ensure he goes unnoticed no more.

As he is sponsored by the Southampton and Region Hoteliers Association, Stylo will be paying a visit to 11 of the city’s hotels, giving rhino seekers the chance to tick them off their trail.

His parade through Hampshire will start at 9.30am, at the Solent Hotel, before moving on to the De Vere New Place, Marriott Meon Valley, Best Western Chilworth Manor, Jurys Inn, Novotel, Ibis Budget, Grand Harbour, Destination Southampton, The Mercure Dolphin Hotel and finishing at The Star Hotel.

Once over, he will set up home in the Go! Rhinos headquarters in the Marlands, where he will stay until the end of the trail on September 22.

The team behind the public art extravaganza took the decision to move him after feedback from the public who wanted him in a more accessible location.

It is hoped the trail will provide a huge boost for the local economy as tourists head to the city to track down the magnificent mammals on the trail through streets and parks. Once the trail is over the sculptures will be auctioned off and the money will be split between three charities, Wessex Heartbeat’s HIGH 5 Appeal, The Rose Road Association and Marwell’s conservation projects.
