Police are hunting a hit-and-run driver who left an injured boy lying in the road.
The 13-year-old victim was cycling along Heatherstone Avenue in Hythe when he was overtaken by a small cream or white van that pulled in sharply.
Police say the back of the vehicle collided with the front wheel of the bicycle, causing the boy to fall off and “tumble” several times.
But instead of stopping to help, the driver sped off.
PC Gary Kimble, of Hythe police station, said: “Fortunately the boy was not seriously injured. However, I would appeal to the driver to come forward.
“I also need to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident but who has not talked to police.”
The collision occurred near the junction of Heatherstone Avenue and Wildground Lane on August 17 at 1.30pm.
