A CELEBRITY sports presenter is returning home to open a Hampshire fete today.
Clare Balding will officially start off St Mary's Church Fete in Kingsclere, near Basingstoke, at 12noon.
The former jockey grew up in the village before embarking on a successful television career, including presenting last year's London Olympics and Paralympics.
The fete is a key fundraiser for the 12th Century Church and is free to enter.
Entertainment includes the return of the Great Kingsclere Bake-Off, a display by the JLD School of Dance, a dog show and a children's photography competition.
It runs until 4pm and also features face painting, crafts, bric-a-brac and a raffle.
