A SOUTHAMPTON athlete will be taking on a Spice Girl in a fundraising challenge.
Iwan Thomas will go head to head with Melanie C to see whose runners – the Great South run or the Great North Run – can raise the most for charity.
Each will be joined by ten runners as part of the challenge.
Thomas, who was trained by sprint coach Mike Smith, won 400m gold at the Commonwealth Games and European Championships of 1998 and is now a TV presenter.
He will be taking part in the Great South Run in Portsmouth in October after the Great North Run in September.
