THE PARENTS of a Hampshire dad murdered in Southampton have paid tribute to their “hard-working” and “popular” son.

In a statement, the mum and dad of Kevin Wyeth, who was killed in a Woolston alleyway in the early hours of Saturday morning, spoke of their shock at his sudden death.

Mum Linda and dad Kevin said: “We are, as you’d expect, in shock at Kevin’s death.

“Kevin was a good man, hard-working, very sociable and popular within the local community, he was a very loving and devoted father to his three sons.

“He will always be in our hearts and will be sadly missed by all his family and many friends.”

The body of the 31-year-old dad-of-three, who worked at the Saints training ground, was discovered in Defender Road, by paramedics.

They battled in vain to try and revive him but he was pronounced dead.

Pooice have now revealed that a 25-year-old woman being held over  the killing has been released without charge.

Officers said that continues to assist police as a witness in this investigation and is receiving specialist support by officers.

Meanwhile 31-year-old Bournemouth man arrested on suspicion of his murder is still being held.
