SOUTHAMPTON cruise bosses have decided to remove Rolf Harris paintings from all their liners after he was charged with child sex offences.
Cunard’s flagship Queen Mary 2 was one of the three cruise ships which has seen paintings by the former television host and artist axed from its galleries.
The star of 80’s television had travelled on board QM2 from Southampton to New York last November to host a series of master classes for passengers wanting to improve their artist skills.
The decision to remove the paintings comes after the Australian was charged with nine counts of indecent assault and four of making indecent images of children.
He has not commented on the charges.
Southampton-based Cunard have refused to reveal how many of the 83-year-old’s pieces were on show across its three liners but said: “When allegations regarding Rolf Harris first came to light some time ago, we felt it was appropriate to remove his pictures from display in the art galleries on board.”
It comes after his portrait of the Queen on her 80th birthday, which was commissioned by the BBC, disappeared.
