A MOTORIST needed hospital treatment after a three-vehicle smash in Southampton city centre on Friday.

A white VW Passat, a white Skoda Octavia and an articulated lorry were in collision shortly after 2pm outside Ikea in West Quay Road.

The Passat driver, believed to be a man in his 40s, suffered minor injuries and was taken to Southampton General Hospital by ambulance.

Police closed the dual carriageway for nearly 90 minutes while recovery services removed the vehicles.
