Tributes have today been paid to a young woman who died in a car crash.

Police today issued and appeal for witnesses to the crash in which Rachel Titley died.

The 28-year-old was driving a blue Daihatsu Quore westbound on the A3054 in Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight when it was in collision with a red Citroen Xsara heading in the opposite direction.

Rachel, of St Saviours Road, Totland, was taken to hospital but subsequently died of her injuries.

Paying tribute to her, her parents John and Christine and family said in a statement: “Our unique Rachel. Special in every way. Loved by everyone whose life she touched.”

The 26-year-old man driving the Citroen was treated for his injuries and later released from hospital.

Police are continuing their appeal for witnesses and would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or saw either vehicle driving prior to it.
