Police launch hit and run driver
Police are appealing for a motorist to contact them following a road traffic collision .
The incident occurred after midnight, at about 12.30am in the vicinity of Gate Lane in Freshwater Bay.
The victim, a 43-year-old man, was walking in the middle of the road when he was in collision with a car.
The driver of the car did not stop at the scene.
The man was later found to have sustained a broken right leg and a crushed heel bone on his left leg.
Anyone with information can contact PC Scott Cooper at Newport Police Station by phoning 101.
Information can be given anonymously by phoning the independent Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.
