COWBOY hats, fairy wings and wigs were donned as about 800 people took part in the charity 5k Twilight Walk.
The event on Southampton Common last night was organised as part of the Cancer Research Campaign.
Many of the people taking part in the event, which is linked to Race for Life, wore pink costumes as they took part in the walk. The campaign is being held to raise money to fund ground-breaking research into new drugs and treatments for cancer.
One of those taking part was Sharon Shinn, whose daughter-in-law Leona died of leukaemia aged just 28.
Alongside Leona’s daughter Olivia, six, and Olivia’s cousin Chloe Harding, five, Sharon completed the walk and raised more than £800 in the process.
She said: “It’s a wonderful event, it’s amazing the support you get from people going around. There was a really great atmosphere.”
