IT’S a Strictly dream come true for one Hampshire couple on their wedding day.

The Daily Echo’s very own health reporter Melanie Adams and Saints reporter Gordon Simpson are set to have a sprinkling of glitter dust on their big day thanks to one of the biggest shows on TV.

The lucky bride and groom-to-be, who are set to tie the knot in December, have been chosen to be taught their first dance at their wedding by a Strictly Come Dancing professional.

The couple, who live in West End, have been given the chance to train with former dance champion Natalie Lowe in the run-up to their big day.

Last night, millions tuned in as the pair met the glamorous Natalie for the first time on BBC2’s Strictly – It Takes Two show and took their very first steps on the dance floor.

Natalie, who suffered an injury before the start of the latest series of the BBC1 hit show, which forced her to pull out of the main competition, will teach the couple and choreograph their routine to ensure that their first dance has the Strictly wow factor.

As revealed on the show last night, the chance to be part of the show is a dream come true for Strictly-mad Melanie, 29, who sleeps with a photograph of her and one of the show’s professionals, Anton Du Beke, above her bed.

She told how she couldn’t believe it when Strictly bosses posted a link online, asking for couples who are getting married this festive season and who were eager to learn how to dance to get in touch – which she did immediately.

Gordon, 30, who confesses to having very little dancing ability, was a little more hesitant, but is eager to make the most of this amazing cha-cha-chance to impress on the dance floor.

Melanie said: “I just can’t believe we are the lucky ones who have been chosen. It’s a dream come true for a Strictly-mad fan like me.

“I’ve been watching the show since it started but never did I believe I’d ever be part of it. It’s definitely going to make our big day extra special!”
