THE Green Party has announced one of its candidates for the next General Election in Southampton.

Angela Mawle will bid to become the MP for Southampton Test at the 2015 election.

She actually stood for Labour at the 1992 General Election in the old Romsey and Waterside constituency and was a Labour city councillor in Southampton for almost six years.

In 2003 she became chief executive of the UK Public Health Association, which represents public health workers across the country, promotes sustainable development and battles to end health inequalities, and is currently a Visiting Fellow in Public Health at the University of South-ampton’s Medical School.
