TWENTY firefighters tackled a blaze at a high-rise tower block in Southampton today.

Three people were led to safety after the blaze, which took place at Copenhagen Towers in Weston.

Hampshire Fire and Rescue were called at 12.01pm, and crews from St Marys, Hightown and Redbridge fire stations all rushed to the scene.

Firefighters tackled the blaze, which was in a bedroom, using a high-pressure hose reel jet and led two men and a woman to safety.

Two people were taken to hospital for treatment for smoke inhalation.

Police are currently investigating the cause of the fire.
