The annual Peter Symonds College Concert takes place tomorrow at Thornden School in Chandler’s Ford with 150 young people showing off their skills.
There will be performances from the college’s larger ensembles – Symonds Orchestra, Concerto Ensemble, College Choir and Big Band – as well as the smaller chamber ensembles and soloists.
The evening’s programme includes Grieg’s Piano Concerto with soloist Sikun Chen and works by Holst, Massenet and Bach. The second half will feature a varied selection of jazz numbers. The College Choir, which is open to all students and currently numbers over 80 singers, will sing Cantique de Jean Racine by Fauré.
Tickets for the evening, which starts at 7.30pm, are available on the door or in advance by emailing hlette@psc.ac.uk or by calling 01962 857592.
