PARENTS learning to cope with a disabled child in Hampshire will now have someone to turn to for support and advice.
KIDS, the disabled children’s charity, has joined forces with Scope to launch the Face 2 Face befriending service for families with disabled youngsters in the county.
The scheme aims to provide emotional support to parents who are told their child’s diagnosis, from other parents who have been through the same experience.
The befriending volunteers have been trained to share their experience and knowledge with those seeking emotional support and guidance.
So to get the service up and running the charity would like to meet those who would like to use it at a special launch event on December 11, at the Winchester Discovery Centre, between 10am and 1.30pm.
