PLANS have been unveiled today to build a new 1,500-place secondary school in Hampshire.
Civic chiefs want to ease the pressure on ever increasing demand for student places by building a new school in Horton Heath.
Councillors in Eastleigh will consider proposals next week.
The new facility could be needed as early as 2018 as rising population figures in the region due to new developments will create a need for 1,400 more secondary school places in Bishopstoke.
An areas south of Horton Heath and west of Burnett's Lane has been indentified as the best location for the new school.
