TWO houses fell victim to burglars in one night.
Thieves broke into a home in Forest Road, Chandler’s Ford, by forcing the kitchen window and took jewellery and a small amount of money.
It happened on Wednesday, between 12.10pm and 8pm.
Burglars then broke the glass in the back door of a house at Park Road using a stone.
It is thought the family returning may have disturbed the burglars as a crowbar used to smash into a piggy bank in one of the children’s bedrooms was left behind.
They also took jewellery from the main bedroom.
Only doors away in the same road at around 6.30pm, a 68-year-old woman reported that she thought she saw a tall shadow in the hallway.
Her husband then discovered both the kitchen and front door were ajar.
Police have not ruled out that the incidents are linked.
