TRANSPORT Minister Stephen Hammond will open a new vehicle terminal in Southampton today.
He will officially open the Orient Vehicle Terminal at the Port of Southampton following its £7m investment by Associated British Ports.
It is the fifth vehicle terminal to be built at the port to enable the city to handle more than 750,000 vehicles in 2014.
Mr Hammond, who was educated at the independent King Edward VI School in Southampton, will be touring the £150m project to expand the container terminal, which is due for completion in the new year.
