A TAXI driver was punched in the head when he stopped to help a man lying in a shop doorway during a fight between two groups, Southampton Crown Court heard.
Mindaugas Saudargis, 24, admitted using threatening words or behaviour.
Judge Peter Ralls QC heard the incident happened before Saudargis was jailed for five years in October for causing grievous bodily harm with intent in an unrelated incident and on the completion of his sentence he will be deported to his native Lithuania.
Saudargis, of no fixed abode, received a two month concurrent sentence.
