NEARLY £20,000-worth of tyres were stolen from a sealed container in an industrial estate.
A total of 116 tyres valued between £15,000 and £20,000 were stolen from the container at premises in the Nursling Industrial Estate, near Southampton.
The tyres are all Michelin branded and are suitable for cars and lorries.
PC Lindsay Miell, from Romsey police, said: “The quantity of the stolen property means that the offenders must have used a container-sized lorry or two vans to remove the tyres.
“Police need to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and who heard or saw anything suspicious. We also need to hear from any individual or business that is offered new Michelin tyres for a much reduced price.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact PC Miell at Romsey police station on 101.
