IT was a day of celebration for five generations of a Hampshire family as great-great-grandmother Agnes Ince celebrated her 100th birthday.
Family and friends got into the party spirit at Colbury House Nursing Home in Calmore, near Totton to mark the grand occasion which was recognised by the Queen with a special birthday card.
Agnes has lived in Hampshire for 58 years and helped husband Macmillan run Ince’s Butchers in Blackfield for around 20 years between the 1950s and 70s.
Granddaughter Tina Redfearn, 52, said: “My Gran is really well known and a lot of people remember her if I mention Ince’s Butchers.
“Even my next-door neighbour in Langley said she remembered going to the butchers and seeing my mum and auntie working in the shop.”
Agnes has three children, eight grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
