RESIDENTS are being urged to take advantage of Southampton’s minor injuries unit and help ease the strain on the city’s under pressure emergency department.
Based at the Royal South Hants Hospital, the minor injuries unit (MIU) is a one stop shop for treating minor injuries such as sprains, fractures, minor cuts, wounds and burns.
With onsite X-ray facilities, a team of skilled clinicians at the helm and average wait times much shorter than at the accident and emergency department at Southampton General Hospital, the MIU is the place to go for swift treatment this winter.
It is on the ground floor of the hospital, along Graham Road, and is open every day of the year, from 8am until 10pm.
The MIU is easily accessible by car and public transport and the Uni-link U6 bus connects West Quay, Civic Centre, Royal South Hants Hospital, Southampton and Solent Universities and Southampton General Hospital
