THE ambassador of Argentina made a pilgrimage to a Hampshire property where her famous ancestor once lived nearly 150 years ago.
Her Excellency Alicia Castro visited 8 Carlton Crescent, in Southampton, following the celebration of Argentina’s “National Sovereignty Day”.
The event is an annual holiday, in which they remember some of the deeds of one of their most prominent political leaders of the 19th century, General Juan Manuel de Rosas.
General Rosas lived in the building, which law firm Dutton Gregory now occupies, between the years 1852 and 1865.
