Southampton City Council has highlighted the areas of the city most at risk of flooding with up to 15mm more rainfall expected tonight in the city.

With more rain expected tomorrow, the Environment Agency has upgraded flood warnings for the Itchen Estuary.

The council says this would affect Priory Road in St Denys, Woodmill Lane in Bitterne Park, and around the White Swan pub in Mansbridge.

Furthermore, the agency's flood warning map extends to Northam, Chapel, Millbank and Crosshouse areas of the city, as well as tidal areas of Southampton Water.

Parts of Bursledon, Hamble, Hythe, Fawley and Calshot are also affected by the warnings.

The agency advises that this extra rain, coinciding with tomorrow's very high tide (occurring between 11.15am and 12.15pm) could cause flooding across parts of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

Residents are advised to check the Environment Agency flood warnings here or by calling Floodline on 0845 988 1188.

If you need to contact the council about issues relating to the weather conditions, the city council says to contact its Actionline on 08005 191919, or in an emergency where there is danger to life, 999.
