Wightlink is extending its services to offer extra late evening journeys between Hampshire and the Isle of Wight after requests from customers on both sides.
A pilot scheme will be launched in the summer providing 24 trips in total, running on weekends at 10.05pm from Lymington and 10.50pm from Yarmouth.
The service has been planned to coincide with school holidays, festivals and other summer events.
It follows a consultation with service users in October as well as Isle of Wight councillors and other stakeholders.
But the pilot scheme means proposed earlier services at 7.20am from Lymington and 8.25am from Yarmouth will not be implemented.
