SOUTHAMPTON has again been hit by traffic chaos this morning after emergency road works closed two lanes of a busy city road.

Daily Echo:

Traffic has been brought to a standstill on the M271 southbound after Redbridge Road and the Millbrook Flyover have been reduced to just one lane.

Drivers travelling out of the city centre on Millbrook Road West have also been caught up in tailbacks.

This comes after a city bosses this week vowed to avoid a repeat of the gridlock seen last Friday, which was one of the worst traffic jams the city has ever seen.
