FIREFIGHTERS had to tackle recycling materials ablaze at a Southampton recycling centre tonight.

A crew from Redbridge and a water carrier from Eastleigh attended the incident at the City Recycling Depot, in First Avenue, Millbrook, where a 40 yard recycling container was on fire at 7pm.

Crews were dampening down the fire at 9.30pm.

The contents of the container were destroyed.

No-one was hurt in the incident.
