THIEVES have stolen Jamie Oliver-brand cooking items worth almost £100,000 from a Hampshire warehouse.

The staggering haul, which includes everything from kitchen cutlery to pizza ovens worth more than £1,000 each, was taken in a break-in at the Jamie at Home warehouse in Boyatt Wood.

The thieves got into the property, in Stanstead Road, by forcing a fire exit and took numerous Jamie Oliver products.

They then used a forklift truck inside the warehouse to move the items out after opening the front shutters.

Jamie at Home is the celebrity chef’s party plan business which was launched in March 2009.

He collaborated with designers to create his collection of cooking products called the Jme collection for Jamie at Home.

Among items taken were four clay pizza ovens, worth £1,200 each, 135 Jamie at Home reed diffusers, which diffuse a scent in the air, and 1,026 cooks’ and gardeners’ hand creams.

They also took 339 baloo soup spoons boxset of four worth £25 each, 228 cast iron griddles worth £45 each and 179 knives and peeler sets worth £70 each.

Police believe they must have used a vehicle to transport such a large amount of goods.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the burglary, which took place sometime between 5pm last Friday January 17 and 10am on Sunday while the warehouse was closed.

To call PC Rob Thomas at Eastleigh Police on 101.

A spokesman for Jamie Oliver said they were not able to comment, but were co-operating with inquiries.

Anyone who starts a comment with the word "probably" probably does not have the evidence to support his statement.

as 90% of toys, electronics and a host of other stuff is made in china it's a pretty good bet, stick a so called "celebrity" name on merchandise and you can sell it for twice the price even though the quality is probably the same.case in point is an apple laptop i had which broke down so many times i lost count, my present one a lenovo i've had for 3 years and it's perfect.,guess which one cost the most?

If people are willing to pay those prices, then that alone justifies the price.
