A DRIVER who drove over the alcohol limit in Winchester city centre has been banned for nearly four years.
Matthew McAllister, 37, of Church Street, Westbury, Wiltshire, was stopped in The Broadway driving a 12-reg Audi A3 on December 30.
His alcohol reading was 97 micrograms per 100 millilitres of breath, when the legal limit is 35. McAllister admitted the charge.
Magistrates at Basingstoke banned him from the road for 44 months and imposed a community order with the requirement that he attend a 14-day drink impaired programme. He was also told to pay a £60 victim surcharge and a costs of £85
