RIDERS are being called to take part in a Hampshire charity event in September.

The Winchester100, which takes place on September 21, gives cyclists the chance to raise money for children’s charity Action Medical Research and take a trip around the New Forest.

The event is part of the charity’s RIDE100 series of one-day bike rides and offers cyclists three separate routes in which to take part.

The ‘cool’ course is 45 miles, the ‘classic’ is 62 miles and the ‘champion’ will see cyclists set off from Sparsholt College to take part in a 107-mile ride.

Action Medical Research has been funding medical break-throughs since 1952.

The charity is supporting work around Down’s syndrome, epilepsy, sickle cell disease and diabetes, as well as some rare and distressing conditions.
