SIXTH formers from The Arnewood School in New Milton found themselves at the centre of a dramatic crisis after becoming involved in an emergency training exercise.
The exercise saw the students take on the roles of emergency service personnel, injured passengers and the media following the aftermath of a ‘crash’ at New Milton railway station involving a derailed freight train and a passenger train from Bournemouth.
Head teacher of The Arnewood School Chris Hummerstone said: “This was a fantastic experience for all of our sixth form students who I know got so much from the day.
“I’d like to say a huge thank you to all the emergency service people who were able to combine their regular training with this special exercise.”
