POLICE and soldiers have today stepped up a major operation to search for a missing Hampshire pensioner.
Concerns are growing for Terrence Gallop who vanished from a care home in Marchwood at 6.15pm last night.
A major search is continuing today after 40 police officers supported by eight soldiers scoured the area overnight for the vulnerable pensioner.
There is a large police presence in the Hythe and Marchwood areas today.
Mr Gallop - who has dementia - is 6ft 2ins tall, of large build and was last seen wearing glasses, a blue jumper with a shirt underneath, dark trousers and brown Velcro shoes.
He has connections in the Totton, Winchester and the Isle of Wight.
