Thugs filmed attack on cyclist on a mobile phone

Cyclist victim of happy-slapping attack in Hampshire

Cyclist victim of happy-slapping attack in Hampshire

TWO men staged a Happy Slapping-style ambush on a cyclist in Hampshire.

The 29-year-old rider was cycling on Angerstein Road in Portsmouth when a man approached him close to the junction with Monmouth Road and asked him for a lighter.

When he reached into his pocket the man punched him in the face causing him to fall to the floor.

After falling he saw another man filming him from the pavement on his mobile phone, before the first man assaulted him again.

The victim needed treatment at the Queen Alexandra Hospital for severe bruising and is awaiting results of a X-Ray to check for suspected fractures.

The first man is in his late 20s, 5ft 10ins tall, of athletic build with brown hair cut in a short back and sides.

He wore blue denim jeans and a dark Adidas hoodie.

His accomplice was also white and had a white mobile phone.

What an utterly bizarre statement Geoff. You are advocating criminal assaults on people purely because of their chosen legal transport method. You should be mindful of your words being brought to the attention of your insurance company or the police should you ever be involved in an incident with a cyclist.

You will be first in line for the next one if you threaten me again, you are a bigger thug than the perpatrators.
You also need to get a sense of humour and realise that some people like me enjoy seeing people like you throwing your toys out of the pram when someone winds you up about your pet subject.

Oh please, don't be so silly. Your assertions are wildly erroneous Geoff, I am not a thug neither have I made any threats at all. I am rightly concerned for the safety of other road users who may have the misfortune to share the road with you given your dangerous attitude. With that in mind I have simply highlighted to you that your own words could easily come back to haunt you in the event of any road related incident. Enjoy your evening.

I have nothing to back down from Geoff, my position is very clear, joking or otherwise advocating criminal assaults on innocent road users is of obvious interest to Police and insurance companies. That is all.

Nil point, Geoffrey. In order to qualify, humour needs to be:

There's a reason most of his posts get marked down. A lot. It's not everyone else's fault that he is a pr@.

Threatening behaviour is a criminal offence.
If the perpetrator finds it funny but the victim does not find it funny but perceives it as a threat, then it is threatening behaviour.
At the very least it is plain and simple bullying.
Doing it in a forum or on Twitter, or on Facebook, or face to face in the real world is all the same in the eyes of the law. This has been shown recently and stupid idiots have been prosecuted and rightly jailed for the offences.
It is not remotely funny or a joke and should always be reported to the relevant authorities
This is just the same as that other idiot who was on here a week ago mocking the death of someone.
