STUDENTS in Hampshire will be celebrating volunteering this month.
Southampton University Student Union’s Community Action Group and the Southampton hub student group have teamed up together to organise a variety of events to get people more involved in the community as part of Student Volunteering Week.
The event will run from February 24 to March 2, and it will promote how students can get involved in community projects.
Leading the plans for the week is Southampton Hub’s campaigns officer Catherine Mitchell, she said: “Alongside events on campus designed to highlight and celebrate the work of student volunteers here in Southampton, we also want to spend the week showing what can be achieved on and beyond campus when students come together for a project.”
She added that she hopes more students in the city can get involved by giving an hour of their time to help community projects.
