POLICE have urged people living in Southampton communities to be vigilant after a spate of car break-ins.

People living in the Shirley and Freemantle areas of the city have been urged to check their vehicles if they’ve been left in the road or on a driveway this week.

Officers believe there have been a number of thefts from cars but some haven’t been reported – often when people have left the vehicle unlocked. Call Shirley police on 101 if you are a victim.
