HUNDREDS of homes in Southampton were left without electricity this morning after a power outage.

The power went out in 2,900 homes in Bitterne, Bitterne Park and Townhill Park at 8.05am.

Four hundred homes in the Whitworth Road and Whitworth Crescent area of Bitterne were the last to be reconnected, by 10.30am.

A spokesman for Southern Electric said: "We apologise to our customers in this area.

"We are now investigating what caused the power cut."

it maybe due to the surge in power to turn the up the volume on the music systems as people seem to go deaf when the sun is out and it gets a bit warmer

......with the smell of badly lit barbeques, 'music' damaging the eardrums and assaulting in many cases the brain cell of those playing it, summer is on the way. Acres of artistic flesh - oh crikey!
