Missing woman Gabriela Montanez found safe and well almost a year after vanishing

Daily Echo: Gabriela Montanez Gabriela Montanez

A WOMAN who went missing from her home in Southampton last spring has been found safe and well.

Gabriela Montanez, 25, disappeared from her home in Atherley Road on May 19, last year.

Gabriela, who had been living in Southampton with her parents, was located on Friday, March 14 in London and police have spoken with her and are content she is safe and well.

Her sister recently made a video appeal for Gabriela to get in contact from the family home in Mexico, after they returned there from Southampton and last year her parents made an emotional appeal via the Daily Echo.

Officers would like to thank the media for their assistance since last May with trying to locate Gabriela and also for the public for their response.

Thing is, not really any of our business. As long as she's safe and well.

Not really. The Echo aren't the gatekeeper of everybody's private business. They reported that she's no longer missing, beyond that, you'll have to watch Eastenders for your fix of mild drama.

Exactly. And the reason its being reported is probably to help alert anyone who might have seen the many posters.

You really would be "missing" if you didn't use a debit card in an ATM, provide your NI number for a job or have your name on a tenancy agreement.
She can hardly have continued to live in 20th century Britain-legally-with
out doing some of these things, so in terms of degrees of "missing" she was presumably "teeny weeny bit missing"
If Mr Ratchet thinks he can manifest "compassion" through the medium of a comment column in an online newspaper he needs to go back to the day nursery. Compassion , young Ratchet is demonstrated by deeds alone. Words are empty, as I'm sure you'll learn.

But then I expect you think that putting flowers in plastic wrapping on the side of the road for the Council to have to clear up is "compassionate" rather than mawkish sentimentality.
