THIS is the face of a man police are hunting in connection with an assault on a teenage girl.

The 16-year-old was grabbed by a man who demanded she hug him as she walked through Eastleigh along a pathway from Falkland Road to Magpie Lane.

He let her go but she was scared by what happened.

She said there had been a number of people walking in both directions.

The man is described as white, in his mid 20s, 5ft 7in tall, of thin build with slightly wavy blond or brown short hair and a light-coloured goatee beard with some stubble elsewhere on his lower face.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident, at around 3pm on March 3, or anyone who recognises the man or saw a distressed girl to call PC Sarah Slater at Eastleigh police station on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
