CRICKETERS from a Hampshire club are taking part in a sponsored 24-hour charity bowl-athon.

Senior and youth teams from the Compton and Chandler’s Ford Cricket Club are today taking to the nets for a mammoth session which started this morning and runs until 10am tomorrow.

They will take it in turns to continuously bowl for the duration of the day and night to raise money for both the club and the Wessex Heartbeat charity.

The event is taking place at Hampshire Collegiate School near Romsey and is due to finish with an Easter egg hunt.
