Daily Echo: Police break up illegal ravein Hampshire Police break up illegal ravein Hampshire

POLICE were called to break up an illegal rave in Hampshire.

Officers stopped event by disbanding a group of people who had congregated in Bishops Sutton, near Winchester in the early hours of today.

They were called to the event after a member of the public alerted them about the noise, they then broke up the event which was held in farmland, at 1am.

Officers seized sound equipment to prevent further disruption to residents living nearby.

A spokesman for Hampshire police said: “The event was small, but there was a risk it could have grown if we had not arrived.

"Anyone organising or attending such an event runs the risk of getting a criminal record.”

Police are appealing for anyone who knows any information about the event to come forward by calling 101.

I agree. There I was at home with my chums from the church listening to hymns on my gramophone when hundreds of police arrived, trampled over my dahlias and beat us all up. Really, I was most put out.

They respond to calls. Would you rather they just pick and chose what new may or may not be meaningful ?

I would rather they were out looking for the thieving toe rags who have stolen my third bicycle in as many years rather than hassling a few kids in a field listening to some tunes.

There once was a fabled time in the 90s when young people could have free harmless safe fun and positivity and listen to emerging music, now they are forced to stumble their way into nightclubs and listen to pitbull before littering the streets with vomit from those few too many drinks.
