NEARLY 2,000 homes in Hampshire were left without power when a blackout struck this morning.
Around 1,700 homes in the Twyford area lost their supplies shortly after 7.20am.
Engineers restored power to most homes by 9am but are still trying to connect 97 properties after the major fault.
A spokeswoman from Scottish and Southern Energy apologised to customers and said they are working to determine the cause of the disruption.
She said: “We are doing all we can to restore power to these customers as quickly as possible within the next two to three hours.”
