CONTRACT workers at Fawley refinery staged a demonstration today.

Scaffolders, tank cleaners and other UNITE members employed by Veolia Environmental Services say they are angry at proposed changes to their terms and conditions.

They staged a half-hour protest before work.

One of those taking part, who did not want to be named, said: “They’re trying to put everyone on the same contract, but we don’t want to end our existing agreements.”

A Veolia spokesman was unavailable for comment.
