ONE of the biggest astronomy events of the year will take place in Hampshire next week.
Stargazers across the county are invited to go to the National Astronomy Meeting (NAM2014) which will be held at Portsmouth University from June 23 to 26.
To mark the start of the event, Britain’s first official astronaut Tim Peake will do a video call to Portsmouth Guildhall from Russia, where he is in training for his trip to the International Space Station next year.
That will take place on June 23 at 6.45pm.
Throughout the four days there will be a variety of talks at the University of Portsmouth. To find out more visit nam2014.org/ public.
