Bus users can get ticket on mobile phone

First published in News

BUS users can now get their ticket to ride on their mobile phones after First Bus launched a new smart phone app where passengers in Hampshire can buy their ticket.

Customers with an iPhone or a phone using the Android operating system can download the free mTicketing app.

The first time they use the app, they will need to enter their payment details and choose a secure PIN.

Tickets can then be purchased before boarding the bus and shown to the driver on the phone.

Hampshire is one of the first places the app can be used.

It will be rolled out across other counties later this year.

This has been available to BlueStar customers for some years now. As ever First are playing catch-up and trumpeting their "new" developments which are actually way behind the service offered by other operators.
